Lou Dobbs Quits CNN
CNN has announced that Lou Dobbs is leaving the network. CNN’s story suggests that Dobbs is leaving on his own to pursue a more activist role on the issues that he has been covering, like immigration and the economy. Lou Dobbs is an American who believes the Constitution is more relevant than ever. Lou Dobbs is right to bring to the for front the one sideness that prevails from the ILLEGAL Immigrant’s. Now that we are the greatest debtor nation in the world, why do these people think we can help them, cause they are ignorant of the facts.
Lou Dobbs is a valued founding member of the CNN family. For decades, Lou fearlessly and tirelessly pursued some of the most important and complex stories of our time, often well ahead of the pack.
I think that this is probably a good thing for CNN. That whole “birther” issue was a waste of time. Look for the stories about Lou Dobbs’s departure from CNN to say that he was controversial figure. No doubt he is. Many in the online pet community noticed and wrote to CNN, and they did a whole weekend where the crawl was the hundreds of pet food product names that were recalled.
“I’m grateful for the many opportunities that CNN has given me over these many years. I’ve tried to reciprocate with a full measure of my ability and my energy.” Even though he spoke well of CNN, which may have been sincere, I also think he may have been being ‘professional’ about it. I wasn’t a HUGE fan of Lou, but I thought he did a good job of what he does. After months of telling reporters that he “absolutely” would not consider leaving his highly-rated CNN show in which he crusades against free trade and illegal immigration, Mr. Dobbs posted a commentary on his Web site last week predicting a surprise new presidential candidate in 2008.
His resignation is effective immediately; tonight’s program will be his last on CNN. His contract was not set to expire until the end of 2011. Good man, but it’s certainly in the best interest of CNN to let him go to attract a more provactive crowd. It’d be the same as Fox letting Hannity go, but the number of viewers is, simply, not there.
